## Why it matters

BLS counted 393 deadly work injuries in manufacturing in 2023. Slips, falls, and overexertion are common causes of injury on factory floors.

Many factory jobs come with a work life plan. BLS says 70 percent of goods producing workers had access in 2026. A plan you own adds to it and stays if you leave.

* Life insurance from work usually ends when you leave the job. A basic work plan often pays only one or two times your yearly pay.
