How we check our facts
Every page is built from public sources you can click and read yourself.
Last updated October 8, 2026. Here is how we write and check every page on Coverfolk.
Where our facts come from
- Government and regulator pages first: state insurance departments, the NAIC, the IRS, Social Security, the VA, the CDC, the Census Bureau and the BLS.
- Industry data next: LIMRA, the NFDA and guaranty associations.
- Consumer finance sites only when no official page covers it, and we name them in the text.
How we check it
- Every fact links to the page it came from, listed under Sources.
- We open each source page. We do not copy from search snippets.
- Prices are published sample rates with the source and date. They are never quotes.
- When a source is old or a rule is only for one state, we say so on the page.
- We review pages when laws, rates or Census numbers change. Each page shows the date it was last updated.
How we write
- Plain words and short sentences, so anyone can follow it.
- No fake reviews, no fake awards, no fake prices.
- We show when another option is better for you, even if no agent earns more on it.
How we make money
Coverfolk is free for you. When you ask for a quote and agree on our form, your request goes to Dial Haul and the licensed agents who work with it. That pays for the site. Insurance companies set prices, so this does not change what you pay. How it works.
